Event website: https://www.philadelphiapostdoc.com/ The Philadelphia Postdoc Preview offers senior PhD students, recent graduates, and early-career postdocs an in-depth introduction to the breadth of postdoctoral training opportunities across Philadelphia’s research community. This virtual event provides a structured overview of programs at leading institutions, including Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Drexel University College of Medicine, Fox Chase Cancer Center – Temple Health, the Lewis Katz School of Medicine – Temple Health, the Monell Chemical Senses Center, Thomas Jefferson University, the University of Pennsylvania’s Biomedical Postdoctoral Programs, and The Wistar Institute. Participants will gain insight into the strengths of each institution and the diverse research environments that define the region.
Attendees will also benefit from a panel discussion with current postdoctoral scholars, who will share their experiences navigating the postdoctoral landscape, selecting a research environment, adapting to life in Philadelphia, and advancing their professional development. Their perspectives will offer practical guidance to those evaluating postdoctoral opportunities.
The keynote presentation this year will be given by Rebecca L. Grant, DVM, Senior Director of Life Sciences & Innovation within the City of Philadelphia’s Department of Commerce. Dr. Grant will discuss Philadelphia’s growing life-sciences ecosystem, current innovation initiatives, and opportunities for researchers seeking to build a career in the region.
Designed to support individuals preparing for the next stage of their scientific careers, the Philadelphia Postdoc Preview provides valuable information, professional perspectives, and direct connections to the region’s research institutions. All eligible candidates are welcome to attend.
