The National Postdoctoral Association (NPA) has appointed Ioana (ee-wa-na) Marin, Ph.D., as Community Committee vice chair.
Marin (she/her) is a neuroscientist and community builder, currently working as an associate editor at Nature Neuroscience.
Originally from Romania, she pursued her undergraduate degree at Lafayette College and received her doctorate in neuroscience from the University of Virginia. She then continued her training as a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University for five
years, where she was heavily involved in teaching and leadership in the postdoc community. Marin continues to remain passionate about supporting postdocs in their personal and professional lives. In science, her dream is to be able to integrate research
from different areas to understand how the brain works. In life, she believes showing up is the first step to achieving many things. She enjoys cultivating wonder, being outdoors, baking and the arts.
