The National Research Mentoring Network (NRMN), a National Institute of Health initiative, provides resources for students and scientists across all career stages of research in the biomedical, behavioral, clinical, and social sciences with mentorship, networking, and professional development opportunities. There are over 16,000 mentors and mentees registered within the NRMN network, representing all 50 states and Puerto Rico, of which 55% are from underrepresented groups in the biomedical sciences. NRMN provides career stage resources to aid individuals in their scholastic and research journey. These resources include:
An integrated guided virtual mentorship and networking platform for mentors and mentees to network as well as participate in various forms of mentoring such as one-on-one mentoring, near-peer mentoring, group mentoring, peer mentoring Customizable guided virtual mentoring exclusive communities for individual NIH programs, professional societies, institutions, and other programs/organizations to provide catered guided virtual mentorship and networking to their members Online feature to create a Curriculum Vitae (with shareable link) Mentoring and professional development resources available through NRMNnet.net that are tailored to key career transition stages Professional Development Webinars Social Media Outreach to engage incoming and existing members and serve as an additional tool for the community of initiatives, resources, and upcoming opportunities NRMN Newsletter with over 26,000 subscribers
This webinar will introduce participants of the National Postdoc Appreciation Week to NRMN’s resources and provided a guided tour of NRMN’s virtual community, MyNRMN.
