Alabama Birmingham 

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) will be celebrating National Postdoctoral Appreciation Week (NPAW) in support of the Ph.D. professionals that work at their institution. There is a wide gamut of researchers at UAB who focus on many different disciplines and disease processes that have an important impact in many areas of the community. Work from UAB postdocs has been featured in multiple magazines including Science and Nature, and has had significant impact on the public knowledge of issues that form the UAB scientific community. UAB's nearly 300 postdoctoral fellows are some of the best and brightest scientists the nation has to offer! They would like to recognize them and their accomplishments through this event.

  La Jolla  Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute is holding two events to celebrate National Postdoc Appreciation Week: 1) On Wednesday, September 18, 2013, the Office of Training & Academic Services, the Human Resources department, and the Research Administrative Support department will host an open house dessert reception – postdocs are welcome to stop by Building 1 from 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. to enjoy coffee/tea and dessert; and 2) On Friday, September 20, 2013, the Office of Training & Academic Services and International Office will host a postdoc appreciation breakfast – a hot breakfast will be served by a "staff" of Sanford-Burnham PIs.

TheScripps Research Institute Career and Postdoctoral Services Office and Society of Fellows (SoF) will host a talk by Marc Kuchner, Ph.D., author of Marketing for Scientists: How to Shine in Tough Times, on Monday, September 16, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. PDT. Preceding the talk will be the presentation of the 2013 Outstanding Mentor Award, honoring an exceptional postdoc advisor on the Scripps California campus.    On Tuesday, September 17, 2013, the Career and Postdoctoral Services Office invites postdocs to drop by an open house in the Office's Resource Center with free donuts and coffee and a drawing for prizes, including: two tickets to Disneyland, Scripps apparel, movie tickets, various gift cards, and more. The open house will also showcase the newly redesigned Career and Postdoctoral Services website.

On Thursday, September 19, 2013, SoF will host Richmond Sarpong, Associate Professor of Chemistry, University of California, Berkeley as part of our Distinguished Lecture Series. Postdocs will have the opportunity to have lunch and dinnerwith the guest lecturer.

On Friday, September 20, 2013, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Scripps Research Institute's postdoc association, The Society of Fellows, a formal cocktail reception will be held with special guest speakers Michael Oldstone, Professor, Department of Immunology and Microbial Science, The Scripps Research Institute, SoF President 1967-1968; and Phyllis Frosst, Senior Advisor for Policy, Communications and Strategic Alliances, National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences, SoF President 2002-2003.
  Los Angeles  Cedars-Sinai Medical Center has a few NPAW events lined up: On Monday, September 16, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. a panel discussion on mentorship organized by academic human resources will take place. On Tuesday, September 17, 2013, from 3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m., there will be an open house event for the entire research community organized by the Postdoctoral Scientist Program, featuring food, freebies, information about resources, and a prize drawing to celebrate the Postdoc Society's 4th birthday! Other social events will be organized by the Postdoc Society during the week.
    The University of Southern California (USC) is excited to participate in the 4th annual celebration of NPAW. The following events are geared to support, recognize, and create awareness of USC's amazing postdoc community and their contributions to the university.

  San Diego  The University of California, San Diego Office of Postdoctoral and Visiting Scholar Affairs and Postdoctoral Association will kick-off National Postdoc Appreciation Week by hosting a research symposium and appreciation luncheon on Friday, September 13, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. in the Price Center Ballrooms A & B. Morning poster sessions and speaker competition will be followed by lunch and a keynote speech by Professor Todd Coleman. Afterwards, the awards ceremony will commence with awards given by the Office of Postdoctoral and Visiting Scholar Affairs for the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Postdoctoral Scholar Mentoring and Chancellor's Postdoctoral Scholar awards and the Postdoctoral Association will award the Best Research Poster, Best Research Talk and Travel awards from the research symposium.

Tuesday, September 17, 2013, Marc Kuchner, author of "Marketing for Scientists" will be presenting two workshops in the Medical Education and Telemedicine Building (MET) rooms 141 & 143: Modern Marketing for Scientists from 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. and Internet Marketing for Scientists from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Wednesday, September 18, 2013, from 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. in Student Services Center (SSC) room 400, the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program will introduce a new program designed to help postdocs have a healthy and productive time while in training, called Postdoc Health and Wellness Learn at Lunchseries. There will be a new topic discussed every month. This month's topic will be "How to manage stress during times of transition."

Thursday, September 19, 2013, professional photographer, Alan Decker will be taking headshots for postdocs to use on their Linkedin profile, conference programs, website, and award announcements. The event, called the LinkedIn Photobooth will take place from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. in Student Services Center (SSC) room 400.

Friday, September 20, 2013, Postdoctoral Association will host a happy hour for postdocs to come enjoy some food and beverages while they mingle and network with other postdocs at the Shogun/Gameroom in the Price Center from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

  San Francisco At the University of California, San Francisco the annual postdoc appreciation BBQ will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2013. This event is sponsored by the PSA at UCSF, as well as several industry sponsors. Each year approximately 400 of the institution's postdocs come out to enjoy BBQ, beverages, games, and fun.

UCSF also plans to have their third faculty vs. postdoc soccer match. In addition, they have partnered with Cell Signaling Technology to hold "Science Olympic" events, including pipet tip shooting and trivia.


  In recognition of Gladstone postdocs and their research, The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA) and Gladstone's Postdoctoral Advisory Committee (GPAC) is celebrating NPAW at the Gladstone Institutes. There are several great events planned that week. On Monday, September 16, 2013 there will be a "Get to Know GPAC"happy hour, giving the postdocs an opportunity to meet GPAC. This will include a short presentation on the "state of postdocs" at Gladstone. On Tuesday, September 17, 2013 they will host their annual National Postdoc Appreciation Week BBQ, and every postdoc will receive a 2 GB USB drive. Gladstone faculty and leadership are invited to join. On Friday, September 20, 2013 Gladstone and the Buck Institute will be hosting a joint symposium that will highlight the work done by postdoctoral researchers at both institutions, and provide opportunities for networking and exploring broad careers. This special event will focus not only on different careers, but the actual interview process to equip postdocs interested in industry careers.

Miami The University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine will host its 5th annual postdoctoral fellows research day on Tuesday, September 17, 2013. Most importantly, they call upon FSU postdocs to actively participate and present their research at the POSTDOC NETWORKING POSTER SESSION. Your poster information can be entered in the registration form. Please note that only postdocs will be presenting posters for this network event. Best posters will be awarded at the welcome reception-food and drinks will be served.

 Tampa The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs and the University of South Florida Postdoctoral Scholars Association will host a welcome happy hour for all postdocs. This event will follow New Postdoc Orientation. The happy hour takes place Friday, September 20, 2013 at Tia's Tex-Mex from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.


  On Wednesday September 18, 2013 Moffitt Cancer Center will host a breakfast for all postdoctoral fellows from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. in the Stabile Research Building. Postdocs are invited to drop by and enjoy a continental breakfast; they can also enter a drawing for gift cards.

  Atlanta The Georgia Institute of Technology will announce the opening of the new Office of Postdoctoral Services during NPAW. To celebrate the opening of the Office and recognize their postdocs and mentors, they will host a postdoc picnic on Wednesday, October 16, 2013, 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. in the Biotech Courtyard.
Illinois Chicago/Evanston At Northwestern University, the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs and The Graduate School will be hosting events for NU postdocs in recognition of NPAW. An evening reception will take place on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. in the Harris Atrium on the Chicago campus; the postdoc appreciation picnic will take place on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. along the Lakefill on the Evanston campus; finally, the Northwestern University Postdoctoral Forum (NUPF) will be hosting a symposium, From Our Own Backyard to the World: The Impact Our Work Has on Society on Thursday, September 12, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. at the Norris University Center, Evanston Campus.

Postdocs and their guests, as well as faculty members and administrators working in the humanities, social sciences, natural and physical sciences, biomedical sciences, engineering, mathematics, communications, education and social policy, management, law, and civic engagement will be in attendance.

TheUniversity of Chicago Postdoctoral Association will be celebrating 2013 NPAW with a couple of events:

On Friday, September 6, 2013 they will have their annual postdoctoral association (PDA) Fall kick-off picnic at 4:00 p.m. on the Crerar Library Lawn. During NPAW the PDA will host several representatives from Abbott and Abbvie Laboratories. They will have a panel discussion for postdocs to learn about different career paths at these large pharmaceutical companies, followed by a lunch for additional networking opportunities.

The week will cap off with an ice cream social for postdocs on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at 4:00 p.m.


Lemont Argonne National Laboratory is holding an "Open Forum with the Director" event in which their Lab Director will have a dialogue with postdocs on mentoring.

The institution is also planning a communication brown bag seminar to mentor postdocs on how to translate your science for the public and for potential employers.
Indiana Indianapolis

In honor of NPAW, the Indiana University School of Medicine's Office of Postdoctoral Affairs will celebrate Postdocs ROCK Appreciation Day on Wednesday, September 18, 2013! The IUSM Office of Postdoctoral Affairs will kick-off the celebration with free donuts and coffee for all postdocs from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the R3 - 2nd Floor Atrium. They will be giving away postdoc swag including messenger bags, Postdocs ROCK pins, and desktop note organizers.

The celebration of their great postdocs won't end there! All faculty members, labs, and research centers are encouraged to honor their postdoc(s) in their own special way. They will keep everyone updated on the festivities using social media. Want to be in the know? Look for #postdocsROCK13.

Cambridge In celebration of National Postdoc Appreciation Week, the Harvard University Faculty of Arts and Science (FAS) Office of Postdoctoral Affairs will host a number of events: on Monday, September 16, 2013, there will be a postdoc group photo and social hour. Then, on Tuesday, September 17, 2013, 20-minute chair massages will be given to 27 recipients, chosen by lottery. Next, on Wednesday, September 18, 2013, a postdoc picnic & BBQ will take place. Finally, Friday, September 20, 2013, the keynote address, "Using the MBTI to Strengthen Your Leadership Skills," will be given.


  Massachusetts Institute of Technology's (MIT) event will take place shortly after NPAW, on Thursday, October 3, 2013. It will be a buffet barbecue luncheon sponsored by the Office of the Vice President of Research along with the deans, with a welcome by them as well as by the MIT Postdoctoral Association president. It will be primarily a social event for postdocs and faculty members.


Woods Hole In celebration of National Postdoc Appreciation Week, the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution will host a community-wide picnic on Wednesday, September 18, 2013. The picnic will be for postdocs, postdoc sponsors/advisors, and their families from Woods Hole's six main scientific organizations: Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, the Marine Biological Laboratory, the National Marine Fisheries Service, the U.S. Geological Survey, the Sea Education Association, and the Woods Hole Research Center.

  Stony Brook In honor of National Postdoc Appreciation Week, the Stony Brook University Postdoc Association and Office of Postdoctoral Affairs is hosting its second annual postdoctoral research symposium. This symposium is being coordinated through the efforts of postdoc volunteers and faculty within the university. The goal of this symposium is to showcase the talented research conducted by postdocs at Stony Brook University as well as neighboring Brookhaven National Labs and allow the exchange of ideas and networking within the campus community.

The Thursday, September 19, 2013 event with feature eight oral presentations (10 minutes in length), including those by the 2012 winners of Stony Brook University's first Postdoc Seed Grants.   Philadelphia For NPAW, the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) have Carl June, M.D., speaking. His talk is titled: "Can engineered cells fight cancer and AIDS?" This will take place on Monday, September 16, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. at CHOP Abramson Research Center, Room 123ABC.

For Biomedical Postdoctoral Programs (UPenn) and CHOP there will be a pre-NPAW event featuring Judith Swan, Ph.D., of Princeton University. Making Sense of Proposals (Part I) will be held from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.; lunch takes place from 12:00 p.m. - 1:15 p.m.; and from 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.Competing Emphases in Science - Because the Facts Never Speak for Themselves (Part II).

The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, in association with the University of Pennsylvania, will host Judith Swan, Ph.D., Associate Director for Writing in Science and Engineering at Princeton University, for their National Postdoc Appreciation Week kick-off event. Dr. Swan will present "Writing for Success," a daylong program devoted to enhancing postdoctoral researchers' scientific writing skills.  From 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Dr. Swan will present "Making Sense of Proposals" in the UPenn School of Nursing (Fagin Hall, Room 213). This session will look at how readers' expectations for context and emphasis can guide writers toward logical development of the scientific substance, thus avoiding "data dumps" in their text. Those who attend this morning session will also have the option to partake in free breakfast and lunch.

The second portion of this workshop, "Working with Drafts," will take place from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Fagin Hall, Room 218. This part of the workshop will investigate a common problem of scientific documents: How to present all of the data and still ensure that the important information receives its proper emphasis. The session will include examples taken from reviews of grant applications.

On Monday, September 16, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.,Michael Kalos, Ph.D., will present the National Postdoc Appreciation Week keynote address in Abramson Research Center Room 123-ABC. Dr. Kalos, an Adjunct Associate Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine and director of the Translational and Correlative Studies Laboratory, will be presenting "Application of Synthetic Biology to Treat Disease: The T Cell Immunotherapy Program at UPenn," highlighting how discoveries from basic research have been used to genetically engineer T lymphocytes and treat patients with advanced cancers. His discussion will also include motivational words for CHOP and Penn researchers-in-training. The 2013 National Postdoc Appreciation Week reception will immediately follow this event in the Abramson Lobby.

The 2013 National Postdoc Appreciation Week festivities continue on Thursday, September 19, 2013 with "Speed Networking for Postdoctoral Researchers." This event, taking place from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Abramson Research Center Room 123-ABC is designed to provide postdoctoral fellows with the opportunity to network with scientists from a wide variety of career backgrounds in brief, one-on-one sessions. Ten career professionals from academia, industry, scientific writing, administration, technology transfer, and government will be on hand for this event. All fellows are invited to attend a short networking workshop beforehand from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in this same room, presented by the UPenn Office of Career Services. Registration is required for participation in the speed networking event, but not the networking workshop. An informal lunch reception will immediately follow the event in the Abramson Lobby.

On Friday, September 20, 2013, the Jefferson Postdoctoral Association (JPA) has planned a salsa dancing lesson for postdocs at Brasil's Nightclub.

On Friday, September 27, 2013, they will host Mary Mitchell, who will be delivering a two-hour interactive workshop on business etiquette. The workshop will be followed by a reception in honor of the 10th anniversary of the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs at Jefferson.
  University Park In recognition of Penn State postdocs and their research, The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA) at Penn State University, University Park is celebrating NPAW on campus. OPA is organizing the postdoctoral research exhibition at the University Park Campus on Thursday, September 12, 2013. This event showcases research conducted by postdocs across the university. In conjunction with the exhibition, there will be a panel discussion on postdoc mentoring, which is open to all participants and attendees. Posters will be judged by peers and faculty from a range of disciplines/research areas and cash prizes will be awarded. The Penn State Postdoctoral Society is organizing many social events to celebrate the NPAW. The events will be kicked off with a picnic on Saturday, September 14, 2013. Other week long events on the calendar are coffee hour on Monday, September 16, 2013; lunch on Tuesday, September 17, 2013; coffee hour on Wednesday, September 18, 2013; movie night on Thursday, September 19, 2013; bowling night on Friday, September 20, 2013; and concluding with hiking on Saturday, September 21, 2013.

South Carolina Charleston  The Medical University of South Carolina is hosting a talk by Jim Bernstein, Director of Government & Public Affairs for the American Society for Pharmacology & Experimental Therapeutics on Science & Public Policy on Wednesday September 18, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. This talk will inform postdocs about science policy and how they can all be involved in securing the future of biomedical research. Lunch will be provided to those who RSVP by Friday, September 13, 2013. In addition they will also be hosting a postdoc appreciation week happy hour on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Fuel in Charleston from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
South Dakota    
Tennessee Memphis  The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) Postdoc association (PhDA)— an affiliate member of the NPA— was founded in 2007 and is comprised of motivated individuals committed to the PhDA mission. It is dedicated to facilitating communication between the postdoctoral community, faculty members and the administration of UTHSC to enhance the postdoctoral training experience thereby providing professional skills for their career development. It was bestowed with the prestigious NPA award for the best new NPA chapter in 2008. The PhDA sponsors research and career development seminars, an orientation program, research poster awards, travel awards for postdocs, as well as a variety of social events. Support for the PhDA is coordinated through the Postdoc Office. UTHSC postdocs may only number ~120, but are clearly an integral part of the UTHSC research fraternity!

The UT Postdoc office and the PhDA are celebrating NPAW in grand style by organizing the following events through the week of September 16, 2013:

The first event will be a postdoc meet and eat event, which kicks off on September 17, 2013 at the Student Alumni Center, UTHSC (12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.).

Postdocs will bring a cultural dish and spend two hours relaxing and conversing with other postdocs and mentors while eating great cultural food and listening to good music!!! Fresh baked pizzas and beverages will be provided by PhDA and postdoc office in addition to the multi-cultural cuisine. They will be awarding four prizes of $25 each in categories like best meat/sea-food,vegetable, rice/pasta and dessert.

The second event will be an up-close interaction of postdocs with junior faculty members (who were once former UT postdocs) dealing with career related questions. This will be a great opportunity for budding postdocs to interact with new faculty members and learn about their success story. This will be on Friday, September 20, 2013 at the Student Alumni Center, UTHSC.

The third event is a T-shirt designing contest for postdocs which would take place remotely at the participant's front - first prize ($50) will be announced at the Friday, September 20, 2013 event. The best design would be chosen as the design of the year for printing T-shirts for postdocs.

Oak Ridge  The new Oak Ridge Postdoc Association (ORPA) of Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) celebrates National Postdoc Appreciation Week (NPAW) with a series of events.

On Tuesday, September 17, 2013 ORPA will host Audeen Fentiman, Ph.D., professor of Nuclear Engineering & Associate Dean of Engineering for Graduate Education and Interdisciplinary Programs at Purdue University. Her main presentation covers topics essential to all postdocs including team effectiveness, managing/leading meetings, and networking. Additionally she will give a secondary seminar about "Women in Science."

On Wednesday, September 18, 2013, ORPA will open online voting for the first ever elections to the ORPA Executive committee (ORPEX). Prior to voting ORPA will host an ORPA town hall meeting where prospective ORPEX candidates interested in volunteering will have the opportunity to introduce themselves to the ORNL postdoc community, discuss their vision for the association, and network with other postdocs in a relaxing and informal atmosphere.

The ORPA town hall meeting will be in conjunction with an ORNL sponsored ice cream social, where several flavors including "Element 117" (discovered at ORNL) will be served. Online voting will begin directly after the ice cream social and candidate introductions with technical support provided by ORNL IT services.

ORNL will further recognize the contributions of postdocs to ORNL with a guided tour of the Spallation Neutron Source (SNS) giving them the opportunity to visit and learn more about the world's most intense neutron source. Finally the postdocs will conclude our NPAW celebrations with a potluck-barbeque.

  Dallas  The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center will be celebrating NPAW'13 with a general postdoctoral meeting to update the ~600 postdocs on campus regarding their vibrant Postdoctoral Association's activities in Fiscal Year 2012/13. Following the general meeting will be an ice cream social, where postdocs and mentors are encouraged to attend, eat ice cream, and be social! A coffee break is scheduled for the morning of Tuesday, September 17, 2013, where postdocs and their mentors can have bagels, doughnuts, and fruit while drinking coffee, tea, and conversing. The PDA at UTSW has planned several career-related events including a professional networking seminar for the Life Scientist, a transferrable skills workshop, and a networking breakfast. There will be an international potluck lunch and on the evening of Thursday, September 19, 2013 there will be a happy hour at a local bar where postdocs can come and unwind with each other, network, and enjoy the Dallas Fall weather. These events will be live tweeted by the Postdoctoral Body's President @Evan_Reddick.
  Houston  MD Anderson Cancer Center is hosting several events during NPAW: on Tuesday, September 17, 2013, there will be coffee and cake from 2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. in 2SCRB / Rooms 2 & 3. On Wednesday, September 18, 2013, a movie night, complete with popcorn and sodas, is scheduled. This event happens from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in the Onstead Auditorium. Coffee and cake will also be served on Thursday, September 19, 2013 in FCT 3 / Rooms 4 & 5, from 2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.; and in the Onstead Auditorium on Friday, September 20, 2013, from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. 
    University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston postdocs will celebrate NPAW at the kick off of the 2013 Fall Postdoctoral Certificate Training Program.
  San Antonio  The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Postdoctoral Association (UP) is sponsoring the 1st Annual Postdoctoral Research Forum and Distinguished Lecture on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 from 12:45 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the GCCRI. A networking social and awards ceremony will follow the lecture provided by Gayle Slaughter on "Career Opportunities for Biomedical Scientists."
Utah Salt Lake City The University of Utah PDA will have an "all-day" NPAW celebration scheduled for Thursday, September 19, 2013. They will start with an association general meeting from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., followed by a postdoc orientation/resource fair from 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Finally, a social event will be held at a local bar/restaurant from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

  Richmond  In honor of National Postdoc Appreciation Week, the Office of Postdoctoral Services and the Postdoctoral Association of Virginia Commonwealth University will host its 2nd Annual Research Symposium and poster session on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. The poster session will be held in the Hermes A. Kontos Medical Sciences Building (Rm 104/105). Lunch will be provided.
Washington  Richland Pacific Northwest National Laboratory is hosting its 2013 NPAW events early! During the week of July 29 to August 2, 2013, the institution will hold both research events and appreciation events.

PNNL will hold a postdoc research symposia, with between 40 and 80 poster and oral research presentations. Travel awards to future conferences will be awarded as the top prizes.

Appreciation events will include mentor/postdoc mixers, and an annual postdoc BBQ.

Wisconsin Milwaukee  The Medical College of Wisconsin will be celebrating NPAW on Friday, September 20, 2013 by distributing t-shirts in the morning to make the postdocs more visible on 'their' day. The institution will also host a happy hour from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Canada Vancouver, British Columbia  In celebrating NPAW, the University of British Columbia's (UBC) Postdoctoral Fellows Office will host an appreciation BBQ for all UBC postdocs on Friday, September 20, 2013. The Postdoctoral Association (PDA) at UBC is organising an afternoon of "Moving Culture," where everyone from veterans to brand-new postdocs can get on their bikes and tour the sights of the beautiful university campus. They will gather on Thursday September 19, 2013, provide some rental bikes for those who don't have their own, and take off together to visit the Beaty Biodiversity Museum, the Belkin Art Gallery, and take a stroll in the Botanical Gardens, to name just a few. During this one-day workshop, theory is introduced in short bursts, and participants spend the majority of time practicing their presentation skills and receiving on-site feedback.
