The National Postdoctoral Association (NPA) Board of Directors has appointed Anne Wyllie, Ph.D., as co-chair elect of the Meetings Committee. Wyllie will join Lisa Mustachio, Ph.D., in planning the 2021 Annual Conference.

Rajan Chaudhari, Ph.D., will step down from his current position as co-chair of the Meetings Committee after the conclusion of the 2020 Annual Conference. The NPA wishes to thank him for his service in planning the 2019 and 2020 Annual Conferences. We appreciate his support of the NPA.

Wyllie is a newly promoted associate research scientist in the Weinberger Lab in the Department of Epidemiology of Microbial Diseases at Yale School of Public Health. After completing her MSc (Medical Science) in her hometown of Auckland, New Zealand, she moved to the Netherlands (via the UK) where she completed her doctoral degree in medical microbiology at the UMC Utrecht. Her research focuses on the important upper respiratory tract commensal (and potential pathogen) Streptococcus pneumoniae, primarily in regards to determining its true presence in the healthy population and the implications this has for vaccine policy and development.

Since her arrival as a postdoc at Yale, she has been a very active member of the Yale PDA, with her involvement including co-founding the Annual Yale postdoc symposium, co-chairing committees for professional development, symposium planning and individual development plan (IDP), and improving cohesion between YPA sub-committees thereby increasing efficiency and collaboration across the board. While passionate about advocating for postdocs, she also takes a strong interest in mentoring, with a strong track record in producing high quality graduates who have interned under her supervision.
