Mission

The purpose of the Marketing & Public Relations Committee is to promote the work of the NPA and to inform key stakeholder groups and the public in general regarding issues and events affecting the postdoctoral community.

 

Charges

In its efforts to promote and inform, the Committee will:

  • Place special emphasis on reaching the following audiences: postdoctoral scholars and members of the higher education, research and scientific communities that interact with postdocs.
  • Develop and implement an Annual Marketing Plan and track progress in implementing this plan. The marketing plan will be derived from the NPA Business Plan and the NPA Strategic Plan.
  • Monitor publications and other communication vehicles for coverage of issues affecting the postdoctoral community; seek out opportunities to respond as appropriate.
  • Cultivate relationships with members of the news media, especially those serving the above audiences; maintain the NPA Press List.
  • Maintain the NPA Press Room on the NPA website.
  • Coordinate its efforts with the NPA staff and all NPA Governance Committees and Committees of the Membership, as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned by the NPA Board of Directors.
