Diversity Resource Clearinghouse
Statistics on Diversity
Many discussions of increasing diversity center on having the “ammunition” to persuade funders, administrators, policymakers, and others of the need. Even though we know the reality, numbers generated in systematic ways are necessary to compile. This page provides links to such known and available data.
Diversity Resource List
The controversy and sensitivity of the subject of diversity in American culture brings up the need for access to definitions, historical and legal perspectives. This page provides a collection of links to such perspectives.
Diversity Funding Resources
A collection of information about sources of funding that may assist in efforts to increase diversity at the postdoctoral levels
Publicly Available Resources for Minority Scientists and Researchers
There are many sources of information, resources, assistance, collaboration, and networking for minority scientists and researchers. This section of the clearinghouse contains links to these resources, some of which target groups at different levels in their careers than postdoctoral training.
Diversity, Affirmative Action, and Non-Discrimination Policies
The NPA Diversity Committee recognizes that state, federal, and local or institutional funding and laws may include requirements or policies on maintaining diversity in the workplace, equity in funding practices, encouraging participation by underrepresented groups, and related activities. Keeping all parties interested in this issue informed about what policies may apply at their institutions will help to provide leverage for diversity activities. In addition, these policies should clarify the value-driven underpinnings of the activities of an institution. The collection of links provided here is just a beginning. We hope to amass a large database of such policies.
