Description

The Finance Committee, in conjunction with the ED, shall be responsible for producing and submitting the annual budget of the NPA to the EB for approval, ensuring that the records of the fiscal transactions of the Association are maintained, reporting on revenue and expenditures to the EB as requested, overseeing the collection and distribution of funds from marketing and fundraising efforts, and ensuring that the NPA is within its spending limits at all times.  The committee shall assist the ED with fundraising and development, including the preparation of budgets for grant-funded special projects, the establishment of sponsorship and advertising rates and policies, and the price of NPA membership. The Treasurer shall serve as Chair of this Committee.

 

Responsibilities

  • The preparation of budgets for grant-funded special projects.
  • The establishment of sponsorship and advertising rates and policies.
  • Setting membership rates and member discounts on NPA programs and services.
  • The oversight of financial arrangements with AAAS relating to the joint membership agreement, in-kind support for the NPA’s operations, and the development of the annual operating budget.
  • Development, assessment and implementation of the NPA fundraising plan, including the solicitation of funds from external sources.
  • Negotiation of contracts, cooperative agreements, grants, sponsorship agreements and associated terms.

Criteria to Serve

In order to serve on this committee you must meet one of the following criterias:

  • Member of the NPA Executive Board or NPA Advisory Board
  • Appointment from the NPA Executive Board
