Resource Development Committee Leader Appointed

The National Postdoctoral Association (NPA) Board of Directors has appointed Sarah Hokanson, Ph.D., as co-chair of the Resource Development Committee. Hokanson joins Chantelle Ferland, Ph.D., in leading this committee.
Hokanson was appointed as director of Professional Development & Postdoctoral Affairs at Boston University in February 2015. She is responsible for providing services and programming for all postdoctoral scholars at Boston University, capturing and reporting postdoctoral data, as well as supporting the development of university policies related to postdoctoral scholarship.
Prior to joining Boston University, Hokanson was U.S. Deputy Director of Science and Innovation at the British Consulate-General, Boston. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry from Boston University, and a doctorate in biochemistry and molecular biophysics from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Her graduate research was supported by the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program, and she completed a National Institutes of Health Ruth L. Kirschstein Postdoctoral Fellowship at Cornell University in the department of chemistry and chemical biology. She received an Executive Education Certificate from Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management’s Entrepreneurship Development Program in 2014.
