Phase I: Seminar
Research presentations and manuscripts are an integral part of the scientific community and need to be delivered in an impactful manner to convey the significance of one’s research. However, research talks and manuscripts can be difficult and stressful to prepare. By communicating one’s science in a clear and compelling fashion, it is possible make your research standout. We will explore the logic of narrative craft and adapt it to scientific research. This interactive workshop provides instruction on how to transform your biomedical research into a story.

Phase II: Workshop
As postdocs, we have highly technical skills along with unique talents. Participants will work in pairs and apply Dr. Luna’s Scientific Storytelling method toward developing a 1-minute Scientific Storytelling elevator pitch. There is a twist. These 1-minute elevator pitches will be your own story and reveal your hidden talents and skills.

Come to this event prepared to share your story with peers. At the end of the workshop session, Dr. Luna will provide comments on the delivered elevator pitches to each participant in the course.
