"The newly formed postdoc association (UP - UTHSCSA Postdocs) at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio held its first NPAW event Tuesday, September 17, 2013.
The half day research symposium featured a poster competition among postdocs with faculty judges choosing 3 winners, who received travel awards for their sterling research posters.
We also had a keynote speaker, Dr. Gayle Slaughter, Sr. Associate Dean of Graduate Education and Diversity Professor of Molecular and Cellular Biology Baylor College of Medicine. She spoke about the myriad of career opportunities for biomedical scientists.
Following these events a networking event was held to allow for postdocs, faculty and students to learn more about their colleagues and collaborative opportunities on campus. By all accounts, this first year event was a huge success!"
