Networking made fun at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame NPA Annual Conference Event

In April 2018, the NPA will host its Annual Conference in Cleveland, OH. The NPA local host institution, Case Western Reserve University, has set out to showcase some of the amazing features this midwestern city has to offer to NPA conference attendees. Cleveland, “where grit meets sophistication,” is the birthplace of rock ‘n’ roll- from site of the first major rock ‘n’ roll concert, to being home to the dj who coined the phrase rock ‘n’ roll. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, established as a tribute to these roots, is located only four blocks from the NPA host hotel, the Renaissance Cleveland.

Diana Fox, Director of Postdoctoral Affairs at Case Western Reserve University, has created an NPA event to remember: a social/networking event for NPA attendees on Friday April 6, at 7:00 pm at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame features numerous exhibits and educational opportunities.

“A ticket to this event is quite a deal.  Not only will the NPA guests get to explore the entire museum (a $23.50 value) without any of the public being there, but a wonderful food will be served to guests,” Fox said.

Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute and Garnett-Powers & Associates, Inc are sponsoring this event. “We couldn’t open the doors to this amazing venue without their awesome help. The NPA is very appreciative of their support,” stated Julie Fabsik-Swarts, NPA Executive Director.

“Visiting the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is like taking a peek into your favorite musician's closet.

Not only does our permanent collection contain thousands of one-of-a-kind items–ranging from musical instruments and song lyrics to quirky stage props and colorful costumes– but we're also always borrowing cool memorabilia and artifacts from artists and collectors for our ongoing and temporary exhibits.

In addition to these items, the Rock Hall's exhibits feature film, video, interactive kiosks, reading material and, of course, plenty of music.”

“This is a must-see place-—one you will always remember,” Fabsik-Swarts said. So, come to Cleveland and make it a conference experience that will motivate and inspire you for years to come! While, this Friday night networking opportunity is an additional, optional, event, tickets are only $50 and are available during registration. The workshops and networking opportunities, including the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, at this year’s conference will make memories for attendees that will last a lifetime.
