National Postdoctoral Association

Dr. Kathie L. Olsen, former Deputy Director and Chief Operating Officer for the National Science Foundation (NSF) and currently Senior Advisor in the NSF's Office of Information and Resource Management, will serve as the Keynote Speaker at the National Summit on Gender and the Postdoctorate, to be held at Philadelphia, Penn., March 10-11, 2010.  

"We are very pleased that Dr. Olsen has accepted our invitation ," said Stacy L. Gelhaus, Ph.D., Chair of the National Postdoctoral Association (NPA) Board of Directors. "She has been an active advocate for fostering women in science throughout her career, and her insights regarding this important early-career transition will be invaluable for framing the meeting's discussions."

According to her NSF biography, Dr. Olsen holds a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of California at Irvine. She served as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Neuroscience at Children's Hospital of Harvard Medical School.   Follow this link to read more about Dr. Olsen...
