Dr. Francis Collins to Deliver Keynote Address at the NPA's 8th Annual Meeting Print E-mail

Collins, M.D., Ph.D., Director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), will serve as the Keynote Speaker at the 8th Annual Meeting of the National Postdoctoral Association (NPA) to be held at Philadelphia, Penn., March 12-14, 2010. Dr. Collins is the 16th director of the NIH.

"We are especially honored that Dr. Collins accepted our invitation to be the Keynote Speaker," said Stacy L.Gelhaus, Ph.D., Chair of the NPA Board of Directors. "He has expressed that improving the NIH training program is a priority, and we appreciate and commend his continued support of postdoctoral scholars."

Dr. Collins, a physician-geneticist noted for his landmark discoveries of disease genes and his leadership of the Human Genome Project, served as director of the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) at the NIH from 1993-2008...
