Meet Our Outreach Committee Leaders
Majda Haznadar, Ph.D.
Majda Haznadar received her bachelor's degree from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN in 2005 before she received a doctoral degree in molecular biology and genetics from the University of Minnesota in 2010. She is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Laboratory of Human Carcinogenesis (LHC) at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) under the mentorship of Dr. Curtis C. Harris. Her current areas of research include elucidating risk and prognostic metabolomic biomarkers for early detection and guiding therapy decisions in lung cancer utilizing various un-invasively obtained biospecimens. Her other research focus pertains to vitamin D metabolism and its impact on lung cancer risk and prognosis. She is a grant recipient from the Office of Dietary Supplements (ODS) for her vitamin D-related research. At the NCI Center for Cancer Research, Haznadar was elected to serve as a Secretary on the Fellows and Young Investigators (FYI) Committee during 2011 - 2012, as a Co-Chair during 2012 - 2013, and has served on the NPA Outreach Committee since December 2010.
